Iridescent feathers

Nice young cockerel showing a large range of iridescent color. Instead of the purple or violet that I’ve been breeding for a few birds will show a larger spectrum and this one seems to really have lots of potential for the full shift of Blue/Green-Yellow Gold-Violet Purple. He should get better with age but it might also shift to just Violet which seems to happen sometimes.

I absolutely love that iridescent sheen some birds have. Like am extra layer of glamor. I'm not knowledgeable at all when it comes to bird genetics but I know for bettas you can breed iridescent varieties. So maybe?

My little bantam girl Dots have her own little shine going. Except I don't think it knows what color it wants to shine in yet.

Update on the broad-iridescent cockerel. I’ve got a few younger that look like they might be similar but not sure if any are going to be female.

This little cockerel combines two really good iridescent lines and might be my best bird yet. His color will only improve with the next two molts:
New young cockerel combining two lines. Very promising iridescence for such a young age.

I am in awe, and a little afraid. The colour - WOOOWWWEE! That eyeball staring at the camera? I would faint.
