If you feed any of the above, you are attracting bears too, if you have them in your area. Bear CAN and WILL and DO attack without being provoked!! Often!

Ah... ok, I misread. But what if what your neighbor was doing was threatening YOUR family or animals? And the neighbor wouldn't listen to reason?
I have a neighbor across the street that feeds raccoons..
He likes them... and its his business..
Nothing i can do about it except make my coop stronger...... its not HIS problem that i have chickens and ducks here that can be killed by the coons when they find us... (and i am sure that they will find us someday!..)
All you can do is make sure that YOUR property is predator proof... (which mine really isnt.. *sigh*..)
Wildlife is out there and it always will be.. and they've gotten my birds a few times too... and i'm sure that they will again.. because i cant cover my chicken pen/yard.. its too weird a shape..
I dont blame my neighbor ..i blame myself and my not great fencing job.....
I dont know... its just the way that i think..
If i have prey animals in my yard and i dont want them taken by predators then its MY responsibility to make my yard Fort Knox...
Not much you can do about beras though.... although i think some folks gave good ideas.. electric wire and such??...
Personally..i believe that if the bears were that close to find the food that she was putting out.. then they were there all along... it was just a matter of time before they came for her tasty critters...
Sounds like the OP may need to get some electric fencing or something else that will keep the bears out of her yard??
If it's LEGAL(is it where you are?) then that's fine I suppose, even tho in the end the critters are the ones that suffer. But what if feeding the coons was illegal AND because he was feeding them they were coming to your birds?
