A year ago I paid $125 for tiny unregistered weaned doe. She is a love. She thinks shes a lap dog and loves to go for rides. she wears a harness and is leash trained. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

Pygmy bucklings go for less than ten dollars at the local sale barn. Doelings go for about twenty. I have bought and sold many of them there. I would NEVER pay anywhere near seventy-five dollars for a pygmy anything. Unless they go a lot higher in your area, that is wayyyyyy too high.

It varies by area, you can find some pretty cheap pygmies here, but in many cases you get what you pay for, these are generally not disbudded, wormed, vaccinated, or registered, and in most cases haven't had alot of handling and are WILD. I raised some a few years ago, bought their mom's bred (honestly I only bought them because I had such a long time to wait before my kids were born and I was really itching for babies), bought them for $35 each, they were unregistered, horned and wild. In two weeks I had 3 babies, I sold the doe kids for $50 each, they were wormed, disbudded, vaccinated, and very friendly! The buckling was put on a bottle (doe rejected him) and was also wormed, vaccinated, banded, and disbudded, I sold him for $35. I banded horns, wormed, and vaccinated the does, one doe tamed down, the other was still fairly wild, I sold them for $75 each (exposed to my nigi buck). A few people desided against my kids because the could get them cheaper, and I wished them good luck! Personally I think my kids were worth every penny.

I guess that was long winded and may or may not have helped, look around see what they are going for in your area, and consider what has gone to these particular goats, are they friendly? Disbudded? Vaccinated? Etc.? If yes, then I'd say it's a very fair price!

I raise Nigerian Dwarfs, I sale all wethers for $50, does and bucks average between $150-$250 depending on quality.

I hope that helps!

I payed $25 each for my two does. They were 5 months old and not tame. Lol.
I see on Craigslist (for my area) pygmies go from $25-100 each. So I'd say thats a decent price. I, myself, wouldn't pay $75.
Good luck on your choice.

I have registered mini-manchas and I sold my boy kids at $75 for a buckling and $50 for a wether. I think I could have easily gotten more, but it was my first time selling any and I just wanted to make sure they sold so that when it was time to separate them from the girls, they could just go to their new homes.

Well--I bought not one but two!!!!!! They are very friendly, not from the same parents. The buck is solid black, not disbudded. The doeling has no sign of horns, a very pretty apricot color with blue eyes! She is adorable. They are both vaccinated and have been wormed. I also got a money back guarantee, that if I have any problems within 30 days I can be refunded.

This place was very clean. They had lots of goats that were all seperated by herd so no in/cross breeding.

I think you get what you pay for sometimes.

Thanks to everyone who replied--I appreciate all of the responses!
It was very helpful.

I am not sure-----Is that a good thing???? I am new to this type of goat. I have experience with Boer, but not with the little ones.

I will get some pics in a little while. I have 80 eggs that are hatching out today.
