Is a large dog kennel an appropriate size shelter for 2 geese?

Greetings all,

I have 2 Roman Tufted goslings in the brooder right now and planning for them when they finally go outside. They will be staying in a 12'x12' run until they are large enough to free range, but want a place for them to be cozy if its windy in the run. I found a dog kennel on CL with these dimensions 38" L 28" W & 28"H. Is this appropriate for this breed of goose? Do your geese even use shelters?

I have two girls “a Classic Roman and a Buff” that sleep in a dog kennel at night, it’s a tight fit but they like being together. They and one of my ganders are an exception when it comes to my other geese, all the others will stay out even in harsh weather which is why they need a large open shelter with a roof.
I guess it depends on their personalities what they want to do. Over all I wouldn’t expect them to see a dog kennel as their home but you never know.

From my own expierience all of the girls love dog kennels/dog igloos as nests, so come breeding season they’ll definitly use it.
