Is a quail hatchery a thing?

So this is a dumb question. You have my permission to laugh.

Are there hatcheries for quail? I saw Murray McMurray sells quail... but you need to buy 100 at a time.... PER BREED.

I'm not sure if I ever will (I want some REALLY BAD), but before I do I will of course be researching so I don't have to keep asking dumb questions like this. At the moment I know virtually NOTHING about quail.

Is there a place I can only buy a few? Like 3-5? I won't be able to buy eggs. I don't have an incubator, and unfortunately boobcubating doesn't really work. Also is vent sexing quail possible (if there is a hatchery for them) or are they way too small? Like bantams(which I imagine quail are even smaller)?

But so, are there quail hatcheries? If I wanted 3-5 and wanted to mix breeds?

I will of course look into whether or not permits are necessary in my area.

You will need to buy adults or travel to pick up a handful. They require so many because they're too small yo keep themselves warm.

if you are looking to purchase live quail, it’s best to check locally first to see if you can pick up chicks or adults. I know myshire ships live teen and breeder sets and has very good results. I started with incubating shipped eggs (i think 1 or 2 dozen from purely poultry) and my first covey was 7 adult birds??? i then found myshire farm and have been ordering my eggs from them ever since.

I do think it's better to incubate, only because your in control of the amount you want.

Yes myshire offers hens, Roos, straight run teens, and breeding groups as options.
