Im in Speedwell.. Claiborne County... bout an hour North East of Knoxville... close to where Ky Va and Tn meet...

I dont think they have ever had Chickenstock in Tn, but Im not positive.. I would love that though..

Me too. I've gotten another family hooked on chickens as pets, and another set looking for laying hens locally. But don't know where to find them. Is there a farmer's market in this area?

humm.. there is a farmers market in Knoxville... but Im not sure what they have there.. I have never been.. I do know they sale fresh eggs... there is a flea market in Tazwell... but most chickens there doesnt look very well cared for.. sometimes you can find ones that do.. I ordered my chickens... so I dont really know anywhere else to tell ya.. maybe your friends can find someone on here that lives close and split an order of chickies... I just got another order this morning... they are soo cute..

There's a better farmers mkt in Seymour in the parking lot of the Baptist Church on Sat mornings. I've seen fresh eggs there, too, and local honey and veggies. No livestock, but the local food is awesome!
I ordered my babies, too (and yes, they were awful cute). I'm not allowed to have more, since hubby thinks 7 is already too many. But Jen wants 3 laying hens at an affordable price. She'd rather not spend the time/$ waiting for them to gorw up. So I'll have to keep checking around.

We really ought to try and get organized locally...
