Is anyone else buying land?

BTW, my family thinks I'm nuts. My sister was here last week and I told her about the place and showed her pictures. I worked as a master electrician and a power linesman, retrained to take a job as a flight engineer on C-130 cargo aircraft, have a pilot's license, an associates degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and another in Aviation Management. Now I want to go be a chicken farmer!!!???

Isn't life great when you can still do what you want to do when you grow up?

We bought 7 acres a year ago and my sister was here for her first visit last week. She loved feeding the chickens and working in the garden. When she was leaving she said there was only one thing she could think of that was wrong with the place. When I asked her what she said having to leave to go to work... I told her yeah and when I could figure out a way around it I would never leave.

I've seen ads on TV alot lately for land in Wyoming.
Having lived in Wyoming I can speak from personal experience. The land they show on the TV ads is misleading in that the video was most definitely shot in the spring. Everythings green and nice. Summers are hot and DRY. Winters are downright COLD!
The winter DW and I spent in southwest Wyoming was miserable for DW. Florida girl and minus 35 .........not a good mix. Month of Dec. when we were there averaged minus 35 at night and warmest it got was minus 12 for the entire month. In Janurary when the temps rose above zero (barely) it felt like summer.
The land being advertised is not good for much of anything or else it would be in use. It is also quite litterally in the middle of nowhere. Nearest services may be 100 miles away. And the wind howls thru almost continuously. Great place to start a windmill farm though. Theres alot of coal, oil, and natural gas there. You can bet someone else owns the rights.

You too??!!
I don't have a degree in mechanical engineering though.
Planes get harder to climb around on the older you get. Bad knees and BIG planes don't mix well. And its WAY too expensive right now to stay current on pilots liscence.

We were in Wyoming last September and the wind was terrible. We asked the waitress about it and she looked at us and said, "It IS Wyoming!". I said they forgot to put in the bit about the wind and grit in your teeth in the travel brochure!

Ummmm That's a STEAL! Thanks for that info. mac! 1.5acre garden LOL. Compared to my 48 potted veggies, herbs, and flowers, it sounds like that 4 letter dirty word... WORK! Dang, I have to see this though. Is this on an MLS or something?
