We bought 25 acres for $35,000 8 yrs. ago, built a nice average size ranch house on it for $76,000. So, apparently PA has some cheap land. We are about 40 minutes from the nearest town, don't have cable and only dialup internet available, but thats ok.....The view, and peace and quiet makes up for it.
PS..The closer you get to town, the price goes up...A 1 acre lot in a plan costs $30,000. Plus the house has to be a certain sq. footage, so you have to build a big house, and there is only one contractor that builds all of them. Total cost would be around $180,000 to $250,000.
