What did you order?

I ordered a mix of Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Barred Rocks and Black Australorps. Was hoping to find some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes but maybe next time.

Yes, this will be my luck! lol We have several friends who said they will consider taking some plus we could throw extras up on Craigslist if necessary.

I am thinking about it

I can't decide if I should keep the rooster and use him or if his coloring will not be a benefit for the hens. He is getting more and more color as time passes and I am enjoying the change as he matures but??? The question is should I keep him for these splash hens? I am new to this color game.

The flash sort of washed him out.. he is getting lovely coloring.

If your camera "washed him out" and he already looks that stunning, seeing him in person must be a breathtaking experience!!!

It's official: I want one.

I'll remember that

and keep a list of test hatchers. I have never shipped eggs but I should have this group of Cochins and hoping for a good mix of hen/roo from the last hatch of Lavender Ameraucanas from a week ago.

Sounds like a plan! The ag teacher at the high school I work in found two brand new incubators in her classroom. She said I can borrow any time. I'd hate to think the poor things have been stashed away and never used...that would be neglect, don't you think!?
