"Not Congress, not the House, not the President. Those of you who think that we are going to go to he** in a handbag if the Republicans win or the Democrats are just amusing to me. They are both in bed with the Corp. that helped sponsor their campaign. And even if the "other" side wins if the Corporation is large/powerful enough they can still have the same ultimate affect. So either one is a lose/lose proposition."
I agree. It's been fun listening to my truck-driving Republican friends bemoan gas prices, after electing a President who very well may have been bottle fed on light sweet crude. It's been fun listening to my friend who owns a small business and thought voting Republican would help his business. He has found out that Republicans are pro-corporation, not pro-small business. He didn't have one thing change when Republicans took office. If anything, big businesses got the advantage to try and crush his small business. It's also been fun listening to my grandparents, who think they are somehow Republicans on Medicare (? how does that work) watch their benefits dwindle. Duh. And my grandfather, who is a veteran, watch his VA benefits withering away.
I am not pro-Obama and won't vote for him either (sorry, I'm going to vote for Bob Barr, Libertarian party) - but it has been an interesting 7+ years listening to Republicans finding out that the their party does not support them in any way, shape, or form.
As an aside, I have ties to militias. I grew up and went to school with the guys that formed a militia and ended up being the Four Corners Killers, and my dumb redneck cousins are wannabe militants (I'm sure there's an ATF file a mile long on those dummies). As well, my best girl friend is from Kenya and her dad is Muslim. And my best guy friend is from India which is RIGHT NEXT DOOR TO PAKISTAN. Does that make me a secret militant muslim hindi maybe sihk al-paca, too?
(there's a little joke in there, see if you can find it)
