Is anyone else going to have a hatch on Dec. 30th?

Well I'm still hear alone, well not really with Joey (my daughter is 2 years old and she actually called her/him Joey) I thought it was cute so well keep it. My husband can't sleep either and this hatching is going super slow. It's 5:35am here and is in our crawl space with his metal detector....trying to find buried treasure.

This house we just bought was built in 1886 and huge! One night he went down in the crawl space and found a 1816 Indian Head penny.

Pretty sweet find I guess. I dunno he's a metal nerd. He coin roll hunts, metal detects, and what ever else you can do with money/silver.

I can't lie I enjoy coin roll hunting. Today I found a 1964 Kennedy half dollar!

Bad news. Pip # 1 didn't make it.

So there are only 6 eggs in the bator.

I posted asking a question about the pip position and someone told me that it was normal. Well he ruptured a membrane and had blood in the cavity. Tried to help him but it was to late. He was already a goner. Come to find out it didn't even break the air sac and it's feet was positioned at the air sac. Also it didn't absorb the yolk.

Honestly I don't feel to awful about it. I thought I would but stuff like this happens and I plan on breeding in the future and things like this are going to happen all the time. Don't get me wrong I wish I could have saved it. But there was no hope. I really wish I had a dang camera.

RIP pip#1.

I have my first 5 pips this morning.

I figure they're running right on schedule. Due to start hatching about 9pm tonight. I may get an early bird though.
