Is anyone else interested in cars and motorsport?

Sorry, not laughing at you, just the situation. Oh dear...lol
Question is, how did you drive off without it?
Only rolled a few feet down the ramp out of my garage, then I realized "Oh crap, how did I not notice!"
Totally me. We must be related or something.
Must be 😆 we're a LOT alike
Reminds me of the time I bounced the Ranger off of a pine tree and popped the drive shaft out. That's one tough little truck. We've blown up a transmission and rear axle in it, and use it like an F550. Motor never complains. With my mods, it's currently getting 28mpg.
Wow. That's great! Except here, you'd have to pay an extra 30$ on your registration for a Highway Use Fee. Dumbest thing I've ever heard of, that fee. Just another way for the government to get their money. Mom's other car, an 03 Ford Focus, gets about 25, 26 mpg. DMV says it gets 32 and they can't change it. It never got 32 even fresh off the showroom floor.

That is dumb. You don't have smog tests up there do you?

No. At least, not yet.
Supposedly the point of the HUF is to regain lost gas tax from fuel efficient vehicles (over 25 mpg) since you're at the pump less. THAT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF BUYING A FUEL EFFICIENT VEHICLE... TO SAVE MONEY.
I was doing some research (gonna try to fight it and get the Focus reevaluated) and I ran across an email that a guy sent to one of the high-ups, complaining that they misevaluated his truck. They clearly did. The truck gets like 17 mpg. DMV says it makes 30something. There was a screenshot of the high-up's reply, and he said (and I quote) "it's about getting the money one way or the other." I'll send you the article when I get off work.
Only way they say you can change it is if you drive under 11,000 miles a year, you can enter the Mileage Choice Program and get a tracker put on your car, it plugs into the code scanner port.
I ain't doing that. No way, no how are they putting a tracker on my car. Especially since I have a friend who works in the DMV, and she told me they track more than how many miles you drive.
I swear government agencies make the dumbest laws.

Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant.
