Is anyone else looking forward to school starting?

Surprised more of the school aged kids on BYC did not respond.

Been a long time since my kids went to school or lived at home,
even longer since I went to school.
I always dreaded and looked forward to returning,
school work yuk but buddies I didn't see during summers.

Now about the only thing that clues me in is the TV commercials for back to school fashion and supplies...and the blessed quiet at the library during the day.

I'm done with school now, But my mom always dreaded when school came back, She home schooled me and my 6 brothers and sisters, and out of the 7 of us I was the most 'frustrating' apparently ;) I would always make up little excuses to go outside and hang out with the horses or the pigs for hours.. I spent most of my time outside with the animals never getting my work done and my mum hated it, Dad didn't care so much since I was the only one who took interest in the farm So I guess I didn't get in trouble as mush as I should of. Soon as I turned 16 and got my driver's licence I was off to collage So mom didn't have to deal with me anymore :gig

Thats because they're not excited lol.

I love it when kids go back to school. Otherwise they are racing through Walmart knocking displays and shoppers down, riding the bikes through the store, playing volleyball over the everyones head.

X2 Drumstick Diva!!! I can once again grocery shop in peace!

Nope, not in school. Four years in undergraduate plus four years of graduate school on top of the 12 years of primary education...no thanks, I am DONE! I have spent more than half of my life in school. :th

I can’t wait to be able to grocery shop without screaming kids in the stores , my community has large families so every row is full of 6-8 kids all looking the same... September here we come

School is not a substitute for good parenting. Everytime i see a child whining in the store i just shake my head. Today i was in the store and this woman's little boy was talking back to her because he didnt like the line they were in because it was too long. Another register opened up and the woman offered for me to go first. "Are you sure?" I said. "Sounds like he might have a problem with it". The woman just shook her head and I moved along. The kid looked embarrassed as he should. You dont like being in the store you dont get to go.
