Is Anyone Hatching on March 13th??

I just added water to the trough and candled for good measure. We are now in lock down. After two disastrous hatches due to humidity issues at the end of incubation, I'm hoping the new incubator lives up to expectation. I also will need to move the seven month-old chicks out of the basement and into the coop to make room for the new chickies.

Crossing fingers! Wish me luck!

Well, LOCKDOWN completed but the humidty is higher than I would like to see it. Hopefully it will settle down after a while.
Candled my two Lakenvelder eggs and only one had developed. :) Oh well, pleanty more of those to come.
Didn't bother candling the BCM eggs, my light isn't strong enough to go thru those dark eggs.
Good luck to everyone with their hatch.
Engteacher, you have to move your seven month old chicks out of the basement? Wouldn't that be more like seven month old chickens? :)

i was confusing myself too! lol. i've counted ad recounted, and then counted again, and hatching on the 13th means lockdown on the 10th, which is tomorrow!!

i think i will do mine tomorrow night since i put min in on a sunday at night, so idk if mine will hatch on sun or mon...

Lockdown successfull! I candled all 19 of my eggs and only 4 were either quitters or just infertile. So, I'm down to 15 eggs. I kind of wanted to open up the eggs that didn't do anything...just to see what was there. But my husband swears they will stink and doesn't want me to. What do you all think? Will they stink? I've hatched before but I've never opened the quitters, I just threw them out. Good luck everyone on your hatches!

I started my inubator late on Friday the 18th of February. So, day 18 for me was late yesterday. My hope is they will start hatching Friday night and I will get to watch a bunch hatch on Saturday.

ilovebuffs, my last batch of eggs, I had two that were not clear but you could tell they didn't develop. I opened them up and they didn't smell, just looked really merky. But, just in case your husband is right, I would do it outside. :)

I fired up our hatcher this morning and just moved my Serama eggs in. Day 21 is Sunday, but I've been told Serama's like to come earlier. They are my first, so we'll see. We did lose one egg that had quit earlier, down to 5 Seramas. Will move the rest in tomorrow night.

We're also set to hatch on the 13th! We have 23 eggs in the bator right now & I can't wait to see how many hatch. We also have 10 eggs under a broody, set to hatch the same day.

We can all sit on pins and needles together.
