Is anyone hatching on the 15th?

I know the best thing to do is to NOT OPEN THE INCUBATOR - but my first chick hatched at 9:00 last night and it has now been 24 hours. There are 15 chicks which have hatched, one with a foot out but not fully zipped, and another getting ready. There are also 6 which haven't done anything or have just pipped.

Since it has been 24 hours for the first guy, I figured it best to get him out, in the brooder with water and feed. SO - I did - as quickly as possible - grab the 15, add a bit of water to the bator and closed it back up.

?????

I hope it was the best thing to do. It didn't seem safe to keep everyone away from water when it had already been a day, but obviously, I really, really hope the rest are okay!

Cute little buggers!!! I just went out to check on the ones in the brooder and there was a little, tiny beetle scurrying across the floor in the brooder. AMAZING! Those little chicks were on him like white on rice!! LOL!

When I looked back it said you had 10 eggs due the 15th didn't it? If so I sure wouldn't give up yet. I haven't even thought about how many toes my chicks have. Maybe I should go check that. Where did you get your eggs from? I sure hope you get more to hatch and they are what you think they are! I have 4 eggs that haven't pipped and I think I will hold out for several more days. I have read so many stories of people seeing why they didn't pip and cracking the egg to find the chick still alive.

I didn't post here before because I was not sure how well my 11.00$ homemade bator would do. But I have my first Hatch !! posted in another thread and gonna link it here too!!

The thread is here wish I had posted from the beginning now!!

I'm trying to put some pictures of my chicks on here, but not quite sure how to do it. I'm going to try this and hope it works.

Congrats on your hatch from the homemade bator. That is great! I can imagine that must be even more exciting!

yeah everyone! I got my first silkie baby this am! buff and he/she is gorgeous!!!! yeah 19 more to go of them I hope and pray~... This am I got up expecting 6-8 more hatchlings in my bator-They were all pipped alllll day yesterday but nothing-so when I looked at them they were alll plastered to the shells-stuck like glue crying up a storm-got out my emergency tweezers warm water washclothes and went to work very quickly one by one. They are all out drying off in bator-one little guy though -I think-is not in good shape-this was the one who had been trapped the longest-his risht leg is frozen in a position that makes it impossible to walk-I was trying to give him chicken PT all morning before work-and it wouldn't budge-so I re-wet his leg with warm water and put him back in bator till I get home! I hope I don't have to do my first cull-I will CO2 him if I have to. He looks like he might me suffering :-( I have 7 more suprise eggs in that should have hatched out yesterday-but I'm not giving up and all the silkies are actually due tomorrow-so I think I'm going to have a busy weekend-My 1 jailbird is still in jail-brat! The rest are doing very well-even the one with spraddle leg-PT for him a couple times a day too and it seems to be working yeah!! Man I feel like I have given birth myself -I'm drained-but loving life right now!
