Is Big Red almost ready to lay her first egg?

Sold as a "Production Red". She has been really ramping it up and wandering around between the coop and the nest box under the ramp so I added a bit of a curtain. Day 3 of this and no egg. She doesn't appear sick but a bit anxious.

I checked her vent area because I saw a few very small streaks of poop in the fluffy feathers under her vent about an hour before that were mostly gone by the time I inspected. I also noticed a different smell than the other chickens without sniffing, (my nose will be the end of me lol) it just smells like a hot canine that has just been running or like raw chicken (both things have always smelled similar to me ) but not foul and not dirty looking. Her bottom is pulsating more when she bends over but she is not really straining as far as I can tell.

Sorry, I am so nervous about her first egg and may be borrowing trouble. Is it possible she will need help or anything. She really doesn't appear sick and has normal looking poops other than a smaller than normal one this afternoon.

Honestly, she doesn’t look like she has a problem to me. Just “something’s going on inside of me and it’s very weird and I don’t know what’s going on but somehow I think I need to be in this box.”

I will definitely let you know. It will be my first egg as well and she has been driving me crazy. The other pullet, Dove, likes to go talk to the golf balls occcasionally but is not as anxious as Red. Dove talking to them is so stinking cute!

The Nuzzler and Scaley couldn't care less about the box or space next to it that Dove and Red seem to also like to mess around in.

Oh, she's ready. Mine get incredibly vocal and restless right before the big day. If she goes in the nest box and actually sits down, you're golden!
