Yeah. Disgusting. Everyone that wants one of those should be forced to drive standard shift.
Forcing them to drive a shift just gives them one more thing to juggle...coffee, cell phone, make up, sandwich...hey, a person only has two hands ya know!

I saw a tv commercial yesterday for a car that sounds an alert to remind the driver to keep their eyes on the road. Can't remember what type of car though...anyone else see that?
Seriously, now you want me to pay attention to the road while I'm driving?![]()
Weird how driving has become a pain to the younger generation. Used to be it was done for recreation. Us old folks still like to go Sunday driving.![]()
Driving on the road can be frightening! My husband rides a motorcycle and I used to pull a horse trailer (not even close to an 18-wheeler) but... we both have a vastly different perspectives of traffic now than we did before having motorcycles and trailers. If everyone were required to pull a trailer (utility, boat, horse, RV trailer) and maneuver it and also drive or ride with a motorcyclist as part of the driver's exam to be eligible for a license, I wonder if that would help. From what I can tell, most driver's have no idea what it's like... the visibility, additional stopping distance and how so very close other cars seem when on a motorcycle. Might give folks a newfound respect.
Me too.I saw that commercial.
Some of you know that my hubby drives a row truck for a living.
Many, many, many of the wrecks he is called to are from distracted driving. Sadly they tend to be the fatal ones. Even sadder it is not always the distracted driver that pays that price.
I remember the days before cell phones, tablets, and portable gadgets.
The days when Ma Bell had pay phones on nearly every corner. When if ya needed to talk to someone you PARKED the car, got out, fished for change, and called someone from those pay phones. No sending pictures that weren't printed on paper, no sending a note that wasn't printed on paper.
Back when one did those things that call or note was WAY more critical information than crud like "whatcha doin tonight?".
GOD I FEEL OLD!
Or...do ya feel smart?I saw that commercial.
