I think that people are too busy with there lives and the kids nowadays seem more interested in gaming and playing on tablets. This generational change seems to have been a quick to happen.

It’s a crying shame that people can’t make time for people anymore.

We had a Maypole celebration when I was in grade school many years ago. But have been to lots of Octoberfest events and not one Maypole. Weird.

Oktoberfest is the best ever! I spent alot of time in Germany, we never got to Munich but there was always a celebration happening somewhere that involved beer!

Lots of October Fests go on around here. The towns make sure to time each one so they dont interfere.... Its sure a money maker here. We have about ten micro-brewery's here. Karl Strouse is one... Though I am a fan of the dark beers... Like Guiness Stout.

And schnitzel! Columbus, Ohio has the German village neighborhood,which was the original settlement. Kept very authentic and still has the best German food. I miss good cream puffs, kugle, sauerkraut, sausage, schnitzel strudel....oh man.
