I think at this point the whole family would just be very excited to see any eggs, but some blue or green ones would be an unexpected bonus. Hoping ours are all hens too. (We have 10) One of our neighbouring farmers bought “black sex-link female chicks” from the same place as we did. He bought 50 & 2 didn’t make it. Of the 48 that did 47 were Male. Either the local hatchery supplier bred 2 BSLs together expecting to get the same results as the parents like idiots, something was messed up in transit or when they were placed in their boxes for sale, or the hatchery has been running a profitable scamming operation. (It’s the 3rd time we’ve heard that complaint.) Either way it’s made us nervous about what we have. But though a few of our are loud none crow & they all crouch & behave like hens so we’re hopeful! However a couple have huge combs which makes my mom a bit anxious.Sure wait see what you get first eggs can get bigger but not change color
WOW! How time fly's. LOL. I"m pretty darn sure you have a Black Sex Link Pullet. Like 99.9% sure. LOL.Was sold this chick as a Barred Rock hen. It definitely not a Barred Rock, I suspect either black or red sex-link. Real question is, is this a cockerel? Pics at days 2 & 4, 2 wks & now at 19 weeks.
It’s certainly been a great quarantine & lockdown distraction!WOW! How time fly's. LOL. I"m pretty darn sure you have a Black Sex Link Pullet. Like 99.9% sure. LOL.
