Hi, Buying hatching eggs that need to be shipped is a gamble. They are one of the most if not the most fragile thing known to man.
My views on it.
I buy a LOT of eggs with the thoughts that I won't get a single chick.
That way when I do... I can do a happy dance.
I ALWAYS spend money I can afford to throw to the wind. You know, the bills are paid etc and I have a little extra cash I can eek out.
All a seller can do is gather eggs and know there's a rooster or roosters with the hens and pack them the best they can. Thats about all they can do.
I've only sold a few times. Most were good hatches. I had 1 person complain that he had no hatch from my eggs then post on one of the forums how great a hatch he had on Mille Fleur D'Uccle's. Gee.
Could it be the same eggs I sent him and him trying to get freebee eggs? It wasn't worth the effort selling. So, I have 50ish breeds and over 400 chickens. What I don't hatch or eat get pitched down the back hill.
My views on it.
