Fall is also a great time to go camping, sitting around a campfire late into the night, telling stories, laughing, drinking coffee and watching the starry sky.
I love autumn, too, but I'm not ready for it yet... We never really got a summer this year. We've not even thought about putting the AC into the window, and August is almost over. We've had a few days in the 80s, but we've also had nights in the 40s.

Lucky. It costs us $600 a month to run our A/C everyday during the summer (and no, we don't have a McMansion... it's 2k sq ft). Bring on the 70s!
Yup
Have been watching leaves change here for the last week! Fall is my favorite season. I love everything about it. The colors, the clothes, the smell. Yup love it.
Since we went through the house to make it more energy efficient at the beginning of the spring. OUr electric bill was LOW over the summer. Last bill was $117! Funny how the little changes like making sure things that didnt need to be on all the time werent. And getting a clothes line. Wow that made a difference in no time.
We have natural gas and radiators for heat. Yuck, very old and antiquated but it has to be this way. But I already told dh that the heat was only going to be on so the pipes didnt freeze. we normally dont put it higher than 65 anyway. But this winter is goign to be a" how low can we go?"
on the thermostat. Next year I want to get a tankless water heater put in. I wil go through the hot water in the tank in one shower if I get the chance. and I know that will pay for iteself in no time as well.
Im waiting! But it will come along when it does, no rush. My favorite time of the year is Fall, when the Almonds are losing leaves, but not completely bare. Driving through the orchards in the Fall is the best. Leaves and pecans on the ground, I love it. Oh, and it seems to bring RAIN, which is the best thing in the world when you live here and dont get any!
