I have a chicken coop built with big houses for the chickens to get in for the winters..There are a few cracks though that I can see light thru so that makes me think that wind and cold will get in more. I was thinking of going to lowes and buying expansion foam and filling in the holes that way...but is that toxic to chickens? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I used foam in areas up high where the chickens can't reach, i.e. gaps in corrugated roofing, top corners where wall and ceiling join. I would use something else where they can reach. What about a sawdust and glue mixture, or some type of filler?

How big are the cracks?
Please show pics...of cracks and the rest of coop.
Chances are they are just a bit of extra ventilation.
Coops aren't air tight.
