7 weeks or so, and any time after that for those varieties of Wyandottes. The shoulder/wing patches are pretty definite. Wish all breeds were that easy!

That is so exciting!! Its funny, I'm still looking forward to the eggs but I truly just enjoy having them as pets

That is music to my ears! I'm wondering if the same applies to Bonnie? Her tail feathers seem quite long and her comb is quite red. She's 17 weeks just like flipper

At 17 weeks she is getting close to point of lay, that is why your seeing red wattles and comb. My SLW's started at 19 weeks and had wattles and combs about the same or a bit bigger

They are a joy as pets, and to me, are far less demanding than dogs or cats, although I love them, too. The eggs are a big bonus. The difference between store bought and home raised is amazing.
