A local nursery is selling "Ameraucanas". I've read that unless you buy from a breeder that what you're really getting is an Easter Egger. Anyone know for certain?

Yep, it's true. ALL hatcheries sell "Ameraucanas" or "Araucanas", but what you are actually getting are Easter Eggers. Though, you could ask the nursery if they have contracted them from a private breeder.

eta: Is it Livingscape? They sell EEs and I've talked to Steve and told him, he really had no idea, but I don't think they'll be changing their advertising.

Spot on, Cloverleaf Farm. It is Livingscape Nursery. I actually wanted an EE, though, so this is good news!

Haa haa, thought so, not too many "nurseries" sell chicks!

Steve's super nice, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him, AND he might be stocking some of my salmon Faverolles chicks later this year!
