Nifty so sorry for your loss!
The heat here is pretty much steady, My young chickens seem to take it pretty
well. They have nothing but shade here, but I worry that the air can be to still at times.

I sure hope you get things cooled off and the gals are happy

OH My are you kidding me! 108 !? That's just plain nuts. I have NEVER felt 108 degree temps! WHEW...I think the hottest is has ever gotten here (that I remember) was 100 (pretty rare too) and I never left the AC. I am SO sorry to hear about your loss. That is so sad. I hope your other hens are ok tomorrow!

I'm so sorry. Bless you for thinking to warn others while you're still experiencing your own loss.

I was just now (6:00PM) out in the run with my crew, and the big ones are outside, under the shade, but the 3-week-olds are nestled into shavings on the floor of the henhouse, wings spread, panting. I wish they'd wise up and go out into the shade--only two of them were outside. They seem to be operating with some kind of "hive mind," and it's not a very smart one.
