Yeah that profile page is dangerous. I do the exact same thing. Once in a while I will even click more and see where I left off somewhere. Bad thing about that is I answer and then go bad to the threads I visit most and post so they are right back on top. LOL

There's no way to get rid of enablers on BYC!

Oh would that I could! No incubators or broody birds here. The enablers are the ones who tell me to go pick up more at the feed store or order more from MPC. I've got 6 bantams from MPC coming in May, but that's an awful long time to wait *pouts*

Hi Kim! Thanks for starting this thread. I must say things are not like they once were when I joined last year and just like you I was on this site almost everyday reading and researching on what type of chicks I would want.

Nine times out of 10 when you post outside your normal posting groups you get knocked down. And you still get knocked down from your own threads you start yourself. There are so many rude people on here that make you feel like you are just so dumb and have not a clue what you are saying or doing so it makes you feel they are saying - why don't you get a life like I did.

Sorry for the vent but this was coming now for a few weeks ever since I got chewed out about my ducks and how un-impressed someone is and I should'nt be mating them, instead, I need to get rid of them and get new ducks.

You've hit on one of my pet peeves about the "new and improved" BYC. Go to the top of the page. On the right-hand side, just to the immediate left of your name you'll see "Subscriptions". Click that. Find the thread that you want to unsubscribe and move your cursor over that area. More text will appear including a small, red X. Click the X. A popup dialog box will appear asking if you really want to unsubscribe. Scream angrily, "Well of course I do you stupid program! Why do you think I went to all the trouble to navigate here, find this particular subscription, and clicked the X? It's not like I'm releasing a virus that will turn everyone into zombies! I can easily change my mind late on and resubscribe!" Decisively click the button that tells the program that you do indeed want to unsubscribe just to make it happy, and you're done. I suppose we ought to be thankful that we aren't than asked to fill out a questionnaire telling why we're unsubscribing from that particular topic. Whoops, I shouldn't have said that.

Guess I better leave huh? That is, if I want to avoid the enablers after all!

Sorry, I used to visit this place multiple Xs per day, just to quickly read the recent posts and add a response wherever I could. I also used to post my own questions and share the sorrow when flock members died. Then, this new format arrives and it is just so cumbersome, heavy, and slow. Takes forever for me to just get a page visible, and trying to scroll (well, I could brew and pour another cup of coffee while waiting).

So, I posted that I didn't like the new format it was horribly sluggish and not quick ... got a nice terse reply to "get yourself a new computer" or some such nonsense. 'kay. I just don't have the time or inclination, no more. Sad really, cuz it was a great spot for learning and sharing knowledge. I still miss the old BYC. (oops, now I'll probably get another directive to "just get a new computer") LOL.
