is it just me or are banty eggs easier hatch

Do you have a incubator homemade or an actual bator??? With both i have late hatches as does my friend and we have to assist them with pinsize hole where air cell is. Something isnt right!
I have 2 incubators, 1 homemade and the other was bought. Both have great hatch rates. I’m actually going to be making a bigger one this winter.

I’ve only ever assisted with a malpositioned bantam egg and that was because he couldn’t zip out.

I think low temp is your problem and maybe humidity as well. Its difficult to get it just right starting out.

I think you've got it figured out.
Yes i googled his breed and something about if jap bantys have long legs only 1/4 do had a high mortality rate if they dont have the trademark dwarf short legs so mixing with a EE or standard its legs will not be dwarf... His offspring looked like it would of been so exotic and pretty. I didn't even look at feet. I willl next time but im sure this is my problem. I own a bb red banty roo he has longer legs maybe they may have more of chance with him as the father.

you should name him stumpy.
I named him dodger bc he didnt defend his banty hen and i witnessed a cooper hawk in action. Plus he dodges squirrels and acts like a statue. Just recently did he start flapping his wings at them. He also hides behind the standard size hens. Lol like hes taking cover!!!!

I went to the county fair once, they had a Japanese bantam rooster, I was right next to him and he crowed, I walked up to him and said..."boy you think a whole lot about yourself" and he put his wing down and did the dance toward me, and I fell in love. And he knew it!

I just put these eggs in incubator, I have 5 little eggs, but 3 may just be first time-er laying hens. The true bantam eggs may just be Sebright, the dad is LO.
