Is it normal for a peeped chick to stay still?

Soooo I helped a pipping chick when I know I shouldn’t have. It’s my first hatch and I was excited since it hasn’t gone well so far. I peeled off the pieces that it had broken apart and peeled away the tissue at the hole.
I don’t know if this means anything, but I notice it’s not moving to peck the surrounding area. I notice that in videos the chicks will peck in a circle from the inside. Did I mess up?

It’s alive and well, just not moving it’s mouth to peck at the surrounding area

Some can be a bit pokey sometimes (I'm no expert). but did it bleed when you picked away the shell/membrane? did it pip in the proper spot into the air cell? How long has it been externally piped?
I would leave it alone for now but watch it to see if it has made any progress. they can take up 24 hours to get out fully but longer than that I would get a bit concerned.

someone with more insight into a situation similar to this could help more than I can.

No blood, but a drop or so of clear liquid came out of what kinda looked like a vein on the tissue

No, it’s above the air cell. That’s another reason why I thought to help it out, though I’m clueless really

Today is the day it pipped

yeah, you should let it be for 24-48ish hours and see if it makes any progress. as it piped today it could take a bit. You should also try and retain yourself from messing with it as much as you can (I know it can be hard). can you keep this thread updated on how it's doing?

I would give it more time, 12-24 hrs after pip is normal, plus it needs to absorb contents or it will have a bad belly button, then you would have to post..."What is wrong with this chick's bellybutton?" There are a bunch of threads like that.

Can you see the beak moving like it's breathing at least?

Yes, chicks will take breaks while hatching. Give it time. Though next time I suggest you give it at least twelve hours after pip before interfereing.
