Is it ok to leave chicks with candles?

Is this a real question? How can anyone actually say this is ok? No its not.
How is oil and gas ovens better than candles? Why is a paraffin lamp “ok” and a candle isn’t.
Yes it was a real question and I don’t see what’s wrong with that. You don’t know the settings of said candle, if people haven’t told me to not do it, it would have, because to me, it doesn’t look more dangerous than using a heating lamp, they both reach as extremely high temperatures, and can both give you burns once you touch them.
Anyway, the problem is solved. Electricity was back within nine hours.

I think the problem people have is with it being an open flame, basically, and that it could easily be a fire hazard. Of course lamps are also fire hazards, but are raised up, never within reach, and fairly easily monitored. Perhaps people are imagining something a little different and more dangerous than what you had in your mind, I dont know.
But I know it was a genuine question, and it was okay for you to ask. People don't need to be rude about it.

Push comes to shove, if there's just a few why not bundle them in something and keep them on your lap or in bed near you. There must be protective device as not to soil you or your bed/furniture. When I had baby bunnies born on the wire by dumb mother not having them in the padded nest box provided for her, I'd slip them into the clevis of my bra or in my smock pockets until I could get them to the house and get them warms up then return them to their mama IN the nest box. Chicks, I haven't ever had that experience, always had electricity, heater and wood burning stove.
