Gathered some eggs the other day and then left them on the front porch over night. It froze. Are the eggs still good? I think they probably are, but wanted to ask you all. Thanks!

I had 8 shipped hatching eggs freeze, 3 hatched...

I personally have no problems using a frozen uncracked egg for cooking.

Right now it is -23 Celcius, and I bet my hens aren't sitting on their eggs in the coop. So they will most likely be frozen, again. Oh well. As long as they don't crack they are fine. Don't warm them though, bring them in and put them in the fridge. I am not sure but I don't think cold warm cold warm could be good for them.

I've had several frozen eggs this year. We thaw them slowly, and choose to eat them first rather than the unfrozen eggs.
I have thawed mine on the kitchen counter with no problems, but the fridge may be a better choice.

I haven't had this problem yet as so far I've been able to be home to collect the eggs shortly after they're laid, but in the event I am gone and the eggs do freeze, I plan to eat any that are uncracked and if they are cracked, cook them up and feed them back to the chooks or give them to the dogs.

As long as they're not cracked, I just put them in the fridge with the others. When you use them within the next couple of days, you'll never be able to tell that they've eveer been frozen.

I take the cracked ones, thaw them, cook them in the microwave and give them to the chickens.

Ours go to the pigs... I'm new with pigs but they seem to get everything that we don't eat. They truly are pigs...

My silly hens lay their eggs of an evening when I am at work. By the time i get home they are generally frozen. I eat them like any other egg. If they crack, I thaw them out and feed them to my dogs or cook them for the "girls". Living in Maine I learned long ago about frozen eggs! You can also freeze them out of the shell to use later on. I do that a lot, freeze the surplus for use when they are in molt. They work great for baking, omelets, french toast, scrambled etc.
