I am new to raising/owning chickens and I have seven 6.5 week old chicks (3 Americanas, 2 Wyandottes, and 2 Starlight Green Eggers).
I have had them inside my garage since I brought them home (they were approximately 1 week old). I allowed them heat up until about 1.5 weeks ago.
The garage stays around 50 degrees day and night. I’ve kept them near a door and have been keeping that door open to allow some of the cooler air to reach them so they’ll hopefully get used to it.
I’m hoping to move them to their coop this week or next.
Daytime temps have been around 40 degrees and nighttime temps have been in the 30s. I live in Ohio so I’m sure some colder temps are coming.
Will my chicks be okay without a heater in their coop?
