Food for thought!I looked at the Cooler bator threads posted and this helped me decide to buy a second Hova bator. The first reason Is I do not need a huge cooler full of eggs twenty to 40 eggs will be more then I need.
My second reason was you need all the main parts in the Hova bator to build your own anyway.
I see no reason I can't dissemble my styro Hova and use the heater and thermostat in a different box if the box get's torn up.

Thanks! I am tired! Layed down around 4ish this morn and up at 6:30. Got goats, pigs, turkeys and chickens fed while walking around like a zombie. In my mid 50s now. Lost a little pee and vinegar but still keeping up with the grandson.. Kinda..Thank you so much, she looks like a great sow! Your pics just made my day! You are so lucky to have a place set up for your babies.
I leave them in until they start moving around in the incubator and become active, then their lil butts go to the brooder. I have in 3 years only lost 1 pipper and I wasn't home to keep it from being rolled...it was rolled over so pip was on floor. Could be a coincidence, but I am not willing to lay bets and experiment to prove a point. All pippers that get rolled get rolled back face up, active hatchlings go to the brooder and all shells are removed as they hatch. I have NEVER had my incubator become smelly by the end of hatch.Me too. I grab them 2 to 5 mins after zip. I don't want roll over's. I have been wiping the top each time to prevent drip. 30 mins later the windows are completely covered with condensation again.
Thanks for following, reading and replying!
I have !more to come. Maybe some piglet pics this evening.
Ya, I don't know what they use in them these days either, I just call them glass thermometers...lol
The new digital Little Giants are notorious for being way off. Can't trust them.Little Giant Styrofoam Incubators is the reference.
The 9200 was the older non digital model with no read outs. I used the 9200 for 2 years. The 9300, 10300 and 11300 are all digital. I heard there was an even newer one as well."Little Giant 9200"
I just went into the closet and checked the boxes after your reply. And they are the most unreliable. I think LG was better off before they went digital.I just went into the closet and checked the boxes after your reply. All 3 are model #9300
