is it possible for a rooster and hen to mate after a few hours of being introduced??
I borrowed a rooster for half a day to see if he would mate. That was 2 days ago.
My chickens never sit on their eggs but today one was sitting on 6 of them! Do you think they could be fertile??

Chickens will set on eggs whether they are fertile or not. If a rooster did breed them a couple might be fertile.

When a chicken goes broody they will sit on anything, fertile or not (or something other than an egg). All it takes is a second for a rooster to breed a hen. It does take a few days before the eggs will be fertile because the chicken is constantly making eggs so many will be close to done and can't be fertilized at that point.
