Is it still possible to tame two week old red golden pheasant chick as a pet?

You didn’t mention your location but have you checked into your state laws regarding keeping ringneck pheasants??? in many states, a permit is required to keep ringnecks and typically requires inspection of their enclosure by the local conservation officer.

In post 19 you mention wanting to take the bird into Petsmart.

I am not sure they would allow outside birds in since they sell birds and the chance of disease transmission could wipe out that part of their business.
Can you please confirm by providing proof of that so called PetSmart rule? I don’t see any posted sign on their store entrance or their website.

I am obeying all state and federal rules and regulations.

Why are the people responding in this thread so “anti-pet-pheasant-taming”?

Some people hunt and shoot pheasants as a sport, while here I am being talked down to because I’m trying to tame a pheasant as a pet.

What do your parents think about having pet birds inside the house?

I think they would be proud of my passion for animals. Also, what are you really trying to imply?
Have you talked to them about these particular birds that you want to keep indoors as pets yet?

I'm curious if they think it's a good idea like you do or if they are against it because it's just not right.

What makes you think I’m just a child?
And maybe I have two aviaries in the backyard? And maybe I’m just trying to bring indoors one tame pheasant only when I’m home.
