is it worth it to start a meal worm farm?

just getting into the backyard chicken trend. Is it worth it to start a meal worm farm? I just want to give my girls a little something special. Alway looking for something to keep me busy! How many meal worms can i feed them a day, each? i have 5 hens!!

I keep a compost pile with black soldier fly maggots. My chicken love eating them

If you get the initial colony going, besides cost at first, it truly doesn't seem too hard to keep up. Someone on here has a colony over a decade old

If you don't mind starting slow, you may be able to do what I did and catch adults from the wild, the little suckers lived in my horse barn under the feed buckets.
