Is it worth it?

Also, Sue's started laying in the run. Could something be going on that I'm unaware of or is she just being a butt? I checked her over and she doesnt have any bugs. She did get some frostbite during our crazy winter storm but not much, just the tip of her comb. That's the only thing that's changed

Someone is willing to sell this to me for $20. I know it's in rough shape but I was thinking it would be a great grow out coop for my 5 week olds. 1 of my sexlinks is trying to kill them so I think I'll have to wait until they're closer in size before I let them mingle and they will outgrow the brooder I have for them to before then. Once I get them mingled I plan on giving this one away (depending how it holds up) and hoping they start going to the main coop with this one gone. Good idea? Bad idea?
Doesn't look great but for the price of wood these days it might be worth it lol. You'll have to paint it immediately and fix the shingles and reinforce the middle part that's sagging and fix whatever's causing the door to hang sideways just to make it usable for a length of time. Also keeping in mind that moving it might cause some damage... oh and replace the missing door...

In other words might be worth it if you're willing to sink more money and effort into it for a year or two of use. Can you put a partition or something in the current coop for them?

So I currently have them sectioned off in the coop. I dont have anything sectioned off in the run. This 1 girl is relentless. All of the others will make a noise or give a small peck and the babies will move. This 1 grabbed them and pulls feathers throwing them up in the air. I just dont understand.
But, yes, I think I may pass on this. I'm just kind of frustrated with the one outlet being so horrible right now.

I do. Should I crate her after I start letting the 5 week olds loose?I still have them in the brooder at night contained but mainly because I'm scared she will kill them.
I would put her in the crate the minute she attacks a chick, and leave her in there for several days to a week.

Did this start when the chicks moved out into the coop?
Do you have fake eggs in the nests?

I've never seen her attack the other older girls. The first time I saw her attack another chicken is when she attacked a chick. This is when she started biting me also. We have been brooding these chicks in the coop since day 1. She doesnt bother with them when they're in the coop in the sectioned off part. Just when they're out in the run or now, I guess, in the yard. I figured I was outside to watch and the yard is big enough. She was on the other side of our haf acre, heard the chicks peeping, and came running over to attack.

We have plastic golfballs in the nesting boxes. She used to always lay in the box. Just the last 3 days I've been seeing her lay in the run. She will just be walking around, pecking the ground, pop the egg out, then continue what she was doing.
