Is my almost hen broody? When will the eggs hatch?

Pics
I let her out this morning but not with her chick because it’s slush outside. She pooped right away then I put her back.
That's good!

It looks like you are doing quite well at figuring out what will work in your specific situation-- some of my guesses about what "might" work have been way off! Of course that is what usually happens when someone is offering advice from a distance. Some advice might be good, but some will be hopelessly wrong, and you have to try to figure out which.

Your advice has been great! But I’m glad I’m not doing everything wrong! Enola is doing great I’m still amazed how friendly she is even though I haven’t done anything so gain her trust. She has eaten some wet food I gave her on my hand not sure if she ate or drank from the feeder or waterer yet.

So adorable! Mom looks very proud! Do leave them alone for some time, mom and chick need to have some alone time to bond
That makes a lot of sense! I have given them alone time but good to know! It’s really sweet just watching them together how gentle Amelia is and how they interact. This was such a great experience so glad she went broody!

So precious! Congrats to you and Amelia! This was a fun thread to follow by the way (I just stumbled upon it today). So glad things are working out and that you are updating!
thanks I’ll try to keep updating! Here is a picture of Amelia when she was little snuggling under my arm. It’s what Enola does under Amelia’s wings really cute to see!

It's such an amazing experience indeed! Don't get too stressed over what to do and what not to do, mostly try and enjoy the experience, your girl will tell you what to do, she will be your biggest guide

I might have given her a price of wet oat meal and a few pieces of egg. What age can they have treats? I’m slightly worried about the other eggs. Should I try to get Enola a friend if they don’t hatch? Or will she be good with just mommy?

She’ll be fine. And she’s still young for treats. I know it’s hard but leave them alone lol

Did she start sitting on all the eggs at the same time? And what day are you on now?

Mommy is fine.

It is not good to raise a chick alone, because it does not learn how to properly interact with other chickens. But a chick being raised by a hen is not really alone, because the mother hen is teaching it how to be a proper chicken.

Congrats with Enola, I hope the other eggs will hatch too soon.🤞NatJ is right , she wont be alone, but more chicks is more interaction and fun.
Best discard the egg that didn’t make it.

Somewhere at the start I recommended to break the broodiness of this young broody and give it a try in spring. I still believe that would have been much easier. But so far you both did a great job. 👏
