Including Enola 12. Before Enola hatched I lost my first chicken Daffy she was so sweet a miss her! I had to give away 3 roosters

Sorry for your loss. It’s hard to lose them! I gave away 3 roosters last year and it broke my heart. I had a hen hatch them from my flock. I still miss them but I did what was best for my flock cause when they got about 6 months old they were trying to kill each other

Yeah it is hard to I always cried when I gave away my roosters. I still get pictures of them though! How many chickens do you have?

Is it ok for Amelia to have chick grit?

It should not hurt the hen to have chick grit available, but it will not do her any real good either.

I would probably provide a bit of chick grit and a bit of adult grit: that way the hen and chick can each have the size they need. The sizes of grit can probably go in the same container with each other, or together in a little pile on the floor of the pen. The chick will not eat a piece that is too big, and the hen will be unharmed by pieces that are too little, so there is no problem with having them mixed.

Yeah it is hard to I always cried when I gave away my roosters. I still get pictures of them though! How many chickens do you have?

Took Amelia and Enola outside today since it was actually pretty warm. Amelia went crazy! Here are some pictures! I know it’s early on and everyone says it’s too early to tell but I think Enola might be a boy! I don’t know for sure but something about her. She’s been super sweet though I really love her really hoping she’s a girl!
