Is my Barred Rock a hen or roo?

I bought it from Rural King as a pullet, and I know the colors say rooster, but please tell me there's still hope. I can't keep roosters where we are, and I've raised him by hand since we got it 17 weeks ago. We have five others (Amerucanas and an Austrolorp) that are clearly girls... But I've really been holding out hope that this one was too. :-(

I would have to agree with @CTKen... The tail feathers are a pretty good indicator that it is indeed a cockerel, sorry to say. He also has a very well developed comb and waddles for 17 weeks, and the barring on his feathers is consistent with the male BR having twice as much white, causing the wider more prominent white stripes... All roo there, pretty sure :(
 
It takes a longer time for almost any breed to develop spurs. It wouldn't be a helpful indicator at this age. On my birds, I rarely see even the slightest of spurs until 7 or 8 months in and by then, I already know if its a hen or a roo.
