So is she a purple hen?

Yes, she is a purple female. She is a sexliinked color and should be bred to a male that will have the purple color gene to make purple. george @ connerhills

I thought the breeder said they were from the same parents- a bs cock and an ib hen- but
decided I had misunderstood when you explained that they could not produce a cameo.
But now...
I'll contact her and ask, just out of curiosity.
And she might want to know that my cameo turned into a purple.
It may be a surprise- she never mentioned purples, didn't show any to me.

She could have a male split purple , reason you may not have seen one. Male can be split to purple and some of his daughter will be purple. Some of his sons will also split purple. Only way you will know is to breed him.

A fact about your purple hen all her sons will be split purple, but none of her daughter, unless their father is purple or split purple.
