I just got three chicks I ordered from a hatchery yesterday and all three were doing fine and eating and drinking water. I woke up this morning and one was laying away from the others. She is about two days old and she won't stand up or open her eyes. She's breathing and chirping. Is she sick? If so what can I do to help?

not sure if this will help but you can hold her in your hand and close to your heat lamp 10" away until she starts to come around ,like I said I do not know if it will help, that is what I did when the rain came and I had put the chicks out side in the morning and then we all took a nap around noon and was woken up by thunder, well one chick was almost died for the other on top it made a come back and is doing fine

as far as the 10" you hold the chick there a few mins at a time and then check it

She is moving a little more and she turned over, but she still can't stand or open her eyes.

If you don't have nutridrench, you can add a little molasses or honey or maple syrup (the real kind) into the water and dip her beak in the water (hopefully she will drink). Sometimes this plus heat will quickly perk up a chicken. She's probably a bit stressed right now, but will hopefully come around.

has she been drinking? Hydration is important and not all chicks drink without assist at first. I mix the starter ration with some water to make a porridge. They like it and they get hydration too.
