Is my chicken a Welsummer?

When I got her as a pullet last spring Nellie was identified as a Welsummer. But I’m having my doubts. First, her eggs are white (not brown). Second, she doesn’t quite have the same colors/patterns of pics I see online (I think she’s better-looking than those I see online, too ). I was hoping someone on this forum could help me. It’s not critical. I don’t plan on breeding her. I’m just curious. If it helps, she is a nervous bird (easily scared - a “chicken”) which is how she got her name (nervous Nellie). Also, she is very vocal - she crows like she’s trying to be a rooster. Thanks!

That's an easy mistake for less experienced folks to make. They do look very similar... except ear lobe color.

I agree with others that you have a brown Leghorn there. The color is known as Partridge in some other breeds like the Welsummer. Oddly known as silver in the Ameraucana. Point being that some breeds call the same color different things, not just in this instance but many times. It can get confusing.

White is actually a valued color in my egg basket... and I like Leghorn quite a bit. They may not wanna be lap birds, but they sure do have personality!

Hopefully her crowing isn't a sign of decreases laying. My BR that started crowing hasn't laid this year at all. It's quite a funny sound.

Yep! I vote brown Leghorn too! I have one and she is definitely full of personality. Runs like a road runner, doesn't want to be touched but is right there when I'm doing anything, looks me right in the eye which I find charming.
