Is my chicken cold or lonely? Will buying it a friend shut it up?

Oh...so sweet! Love the little trill at about 55 seconds. It's the happy chick sound!

The sure love the scratch feed, but that should be used only for treats...you probably knew that already! Also, you need to make sure and feed them grit if you feed anything other than regular feed. They look happy & look like they're getting along just fine! I'm glad you got a friend for the first one. ENJOY!!!

Wow, a love story in the making...

I'd say the black one is a roo and the white is a hen. I'm
only saying that based on size and posture. You may have
a loving couple there.

The white one shakes her head every now and then like a person with water in their ear would. Shes been doing this ever since Ive had her. Do you think she was injured or is she just working food down?

I have a white one that does the exact same thing. I also have a red
that sounds like it's slurping. As long as it's not new, she's eating and
drinking, then I wouldn't worry. She's young yet.

No, I haven't been. Her poop comes out fine though. I suspect they've been eating small rocks. Should I put it all this food I bought for them in a coffee grinder?

Your silkies main diet should be a standard chicken feed.
They should have grit or coarse sand available to them all the time
if you are gonna feed them anything else. Scratch is like candy to
a chicken. They love rice, pasta, vegies, and just about anything
you eat. Again, as long as they have grit available all is well.

My silkies eat chicken. They love picking all the goodies off a fried
wing or drumstick.
