is my chicken getting ready to lay her 1st egg????

was she just taking a dust bath?

I have BR hens, that didn't lay till they reached 25 weeks...we need a pic to see her comb, how red is it etc?
That would help....

That's a tough call. It does sound young but they never fail to surprise us!

It sounds more like she is trying to bathe because that is very young to lay especially if she has been indoors.

I'm trying to get a picture of her. Her comb is about and inch or so long from he beak to just over her eyes, her little waddle is about 3/4 inch and both are very red. My Frizzle has NO sign of a comb or waddle.
Any info on how to easily transition them back in with our older BOSSY and BULLY Leghorns???

no egg yet. We put a nesting box in for her earlier and left the house for a while, nothing. Maybe tomorrow???

Is she doing the squat when you approach her? If she gets down low when you go to her she is getting ready to lay. A week or two and you should see an egg. I agree with the others in that she is kind of young yet.
