i have 5 hens and they share a very large dog house (big enough for a large lab) the house is connected to a 10x4x3 run that i move around the yard.

when i built it, i only planned on three hens.

do i need to build another home?

thanks

What are the dimensions? Large chickens need a MINIMUM 4 sq ft per bird for housing and 10 sq ft for outdoor run. Of course, the more space the better usually is a good rule of thumb.

do you have a picture?

I think you might want to build a bigger one. With winter coming along too since they might be spending more time inside (I forgot to check where you live though so you might have warm winters)

You want AT LEAST 4 square feet inside the coop for each chicken, but bigger is always better. ( and always play like you are getting more chicken since we all do eventually haha)
