View attachment 1434724 View attachment 1434723 Here’s our cuckoo. I believe she’s about 4 weeks or so, we got her from a feed store that labeled the lot of chicks “pullets” but of course that might not be guaranteed. I did some research beforehand and picked the chick with the most defined white spot and darkest feathers! But as the chick grows, her feather colors are lightening. She’s very loud and dominant, but she’s also the oldest of all our chicks. Please help! Is she a HE?

Ahhhh darn it. When the normal age for combs to appear? And I thought cuckoo cockerels were for sure a silver color not black..?
It depends a lot on the breed and comb type. For single combs (like the maran has) they start differentiating between 6-10 weeks.

Cuckoo is another word for barred. Your little guy has barring.
