Hello. I was wondering if my egg is still viable for hatching. My rooster took the egg from my broody yesterday. I found the egg this morning in some weeds and it was a bit sticky. The hen has been sitting on that egg since Tuesday or Monday. thank you

Oh no! You can put it back under her but if it was out there for a day I don't think it serviced, how many eggs do you have under your hen? I'm sorry

I have three eggs under the hen. Is there some kind of test to see if it is still viable? thank you

There sure is it's very simple, candling is taking a light or a flashlight and shining it in the egg, to see if they is any development, what day are your eggs?

Sadly i cant candle the egg because the egg shell is too dark. The eggs are six days old now.

I thought the egg smelled funny so i opened it up and it was rotten and it blew up
