I used to breed Muscovies, and I agree that it looks like a young drake. How big is it? Male Muscovies are HUGE whereas the females tend to be "normal duck" size lol.

The good news is that male Muscovies, when raised as pets, are the sweetest ducks I've ever encountered. My males would follow me, accept back pets and take treats from my hand.

You might want to try to find a second Muscovy though, regardless of its sex. In my experience, scovies prefer grouping with their own kind and are very social creatures!
