Is my hen molting?

Hi folks,

I've had my hens for about 20 months and I've started to notice one is sheding feathers around her neck area. I'm not sure if this is molting or something else to be concerned about. I've attached a photo for you to examine. Give me your thoughts and suggestions on what I should do.

Welcome to BYC. Yes that is molting. It usually happens with a large patch of neck feathers coming out, and the tail feathers, too. You should see feathers in the coop or run. Pin feathers coming in are also a sign. Here is a good article to read about molting:
