That whole "roosters fight to the death" thing is quite overrated. I have 5 roosters in my main coop and 3 roosters in a grow out pen with 2 pullets and 4 hens. Most of my guys are in the 5-6 month range, with one 18 month old rooster. There's been no fighting or injuries. Space is the big thing, plus just having roosters that are laid back.

x4! I've definitely known some roo's to be very calm, and I've seen lots together with no problems. Space really is a big thing!

How old is the silkie? I believe it may be the only other possible male. Really depends on how old it is.


Here is a comparative between male and female feathering after a certain age. Your first one is definitely a boy. He's a sex linked boy too... Should not have been mis-sexed...
